Missy Robbins Guest Chef Dinner At Tasting Table Test Kitchen | Tasting Table NYC

Missy Robbins takes over the Test Kitchen

New Yorkers know what it's like to miss Missy Robbins. When the Michelin-starred chef left her post as executive chef at both A Voce locations in 2013, her legion of fans mourned the loss of easy access to her artful pastas and virtuosic vegetables. Meanwhile, Robbins traveled the globe, consulted on projects (like Laura Maniec's second Corkbuzz Studio) and took some time to figure out what would come next.

That'd be Lilia, the decidedly more casual spot Robbins is opening this summer in Williamsburg with Matt Kliegman, co-owner of the The Smile and Black Seed Bagels. Though she had the West Village in mind for her next venture, the 43-year-old chef was swayed by the soaring ceilings and vast windows of the new space, a former auto body garage located near McCarren Park.

But you don't have to wait until the dog days of summer to stick your face into a bowl of handcrafted noodles. On Tuesday, March 24, Robbins will be a Guest Chef at the Tasting Table Test Kitchen in Soho. She'll be cooking a feast full of seafood, free-flowing cocktails and, of course, pasta. You can have a seat at the table by purchasing a ticket ($125 plus tax per person) here.

What's in store at the dinner? Consider it a sneak peek of Lilia. Not only will Robbins be hopping across the river from her former white-tablecloth life, the food will also be taking a step or two away from the self-described "froufrou" Italian cuisine she cooked at A Voce. She shies away from the word "rustic" but describes her revamped vision as "Italian, bold flavors, approachable, herbal, light, craveable."

In other words, exactly what we'd like to eat right this very minute. Join us on March 24 to taste for yourself.
