Hidden Valley Ranch Is About To Launch A Decadent New Sauce

For many Americans, just about everything is better with a side of ranch — from pizza to mac and cheese to raw vegetables (via New York Times). And soon, per a press release, the original maker of ranch dressing will offer a new limited-time condiment that puts a fancy twist on the classic product.

Hidden Valley Ranch traces its roots back to 1954 when Steve and Gayle Henson started a dude ranch in California. It was there Steve perfected a buttermilk salad dressing that was served to guests. As popularity increased, Henson started a mail-order business for the dressing, and from there the brand grew and grew. For decades, Hidden Valley Ranch has provided fans with products featuring the classic ranch taste, as well as creating a variety of ranch dressing flavors (such as avocado and bacon), dips, seasonings, and its Secret Sauce line. The brand also released a one-of-a-kind diamond engagement ring made with its ranch seasoning last year.

Now, the company is preparing to go in a new direction through its partnership with TRUFF, which specializes in luxury condiments.

A unique take on ranch dressing

The August 23 announcement from Hidden Valley and TRUFF marks the first time either brand has partnered with another sauce company. The collaboration will result in a blending of Hidden Valley's classic dressing with TRUFF's Original Black Truffle Hot Sauce to create an all-new product, Spicy Truffle Ranch. The taste of the new sauce promises to be complex, with spiciness from red chiles, the umami flavor of black truffles, and ranch dressing's signature tang. "Hidden Valley Ranch is always looking to offer new and unexpected ways for our fans to experience the ranch flavor they love," Hidden Valley Ranch marketing director Deb Crandall explained. "TRUFF is the perfect partner, with their unique, elevated hot sauce that is unlike any other."

If you're itching to get your hands on this new sauce, Spicy Truffle Ranch will be sold in 18-ounce bottles for $24.99 on the TRUFF website beginning August 30. You can also sign up for the waitlist in advance of the product launch, which promises to notify subscribers when the bottles are available.
