Kraft Heinz Wants Home Chefs To Be Inspired By New Sauce Line

Chefs competing on the myriad of cooking shows on TV love to drizzle sauces on their dishes to add color, flavor, and a little pizzaz. They make it look effortless: Emulsify a dressing. Puree some fruits. Blend roasted vegetables. Then, they take a little squirt bottle and expertly squeeze the sauce onto the plate, creating a piece of art. As a home chef, it can be hard to get the same results, whether it's due to a lack of time to create a sauce that elevates a dish or not having the right equipment.

In response, Kraft Heinz has launched a collection of sauces and spreads with the help of two highly recognized chefs: Lee Wolen and Joe Frillman. Several restaurants that Wolen has worked at have received Michelin stars, including Boka Restaurant, where he currently works as executive chef/partner. In that role, he was a finalist for a James Beard Award in 2020, and the restaurant has had a Michelin star every year from 2011 to 2022. As owner and executive chef of Daisies in Chicago, Frillman uses locally grown ingredients in his restaurant, which specializes in vegetable-focused dishes as well as pasta. Before he opened Daisies, Frillman and his team were recognized by the Michelin Guide with Bib Gourmand in 2010 and 2011.

The HEINZ 57 Collection

Launched by Kraft Heinz, the HEINZ 57 Collection has two product lines — infused honeys and crunch sauces. The Hot Chili and Black Truffle honey flavors are great for pizza, bacon, or fried chicken, according to an announcement from HEINZ. The HEINZ Crunch Toppers come in three flavors: Chili Pepper Crunch, Roasted Garlic Crunch, and Mandarin Orange Miso Crunch. According to the announcement, the toppers are oil-based and are intended to add flavor and texture to meals, such as stir fries and vegetables.

"I am inspired by premium-crafted ingredients that can turn any meal from ordinary to extraordinary," Chef Wolen said in the press release. "The HEINZ 57 Collection enables foodies to discover and explore new ingredients and cuisines with a modern twist to even the most tried and true family favorites."

The vision for the HEINZ 57 Collection, according to Ashleigh Gibson, head of marketing and strategy for HEINZ, is to help the home chef elevate their cooking during a time where people are being inspired by chefs to incorporate more complex flavors into their dishes. The HEINZ 57 Collection is available at major retailers, including Hy-Vee, Publix, Walmart, and Meijer, and on Amazon.
