Where To Try Krispy Kreme's New Donut-Flavored Ice Cream

Few seasons are as closely identified with ice cream quite like summer. The pairing is so iconic that each year as weather starts heating up around the U.S., it's a safe bet some of the country's top food companies are already working on cool and creative new ice cream flavors. Today, on the first official day of summer, beloved doughnut brand Krispy Kreme unveiled its new ice cream flavor lineup courtesy of a press release on Business Wire, including seven flavors that will be available in hand-spun milkshakes in select locations, and three that will also be available in cups and waffle cones.

The most headline grabbing, naturally, is a doughnut flavored ice cream: Original Glazed Soft Serve, which pairs the chain's signature (and very, very secret) glazed doughnut recipe with whole milk in a unique soft serve ice cream. "The introduction of Original Glazed Soft Serve Ice Cream is a big day for Krispy Kreme and our fans," Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme's Chief Marketing Officer was quoted as saying in the press release. "Our fans love Krispy Kreme doughnuts, and they also love rich, creamy, ice cream. We're confident their love of ice cream and for Krispy Kreme is going to go to an entirely new level after they experience these deliciously unique shakes, cones and cups. We're thrilled to begin our rollout on the first day of summer."

Only 10 Krispy Kreme locations have Original Glazed Soft Serve today

There are currently 369 Krispy Kreme doughnut shops scattered across 41 states in the U.S. (per USA Today). However, locations in only 10 markets will carry Krispy Kreme's new ice cream flavors, notes the press release via Business Wire press release. These markets include three in North Carolina (Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and the location of the market where the company's headquarters is located in Charlotte), two in Virginia (Norfolk and Newport News), two in Tennessee (Nashville and the Tri-Cities area), plus Greenville, South Carolina; Charleston, West Virginia; and San Antonio, Texas. Seven more markets are expected to begin offering the doughnut flavored ice cream soon, including three in Florida. To find the nearest participating Krispy Kreme location, the company in inviting people to visit the company's ice cream page.

The Original Glazed Soft Serve may be the must-try new flavor from Krispy Kreme, but six more flavors will also premiere today, per the press release. These are Strawberry Iced Sprinkled, Chocolate Iced, Lemon Filled, Cookies & KREME, Birthday Batter, and Coffee & KREME. However, only three of these flavors — Original Glazed, Strawberry Iced Sprinkled, and Chocolate Iced — are available via cups and waffle cones. According to the press release, dehydrated pieces of Original Glazed doughnuts are also available as an individual topping.

Krispy Kreme didn't announce the length of the promotion, so we'd suggest you "doughnut" let this offer pass unnoticed for long.
