If You Ever Wanted To Try Grey Poupon Ice Cream Now's Your Chance

If you've ever had a craving for mustard ice cream, you were likely either pregnant or stricken with a severe case of the late-night munchies. Or maybe you're just a particularly adventurous eater. Either way, your chance to try it has finally arrived.

On June 1, New York-based artisanal ice cream giant Van Leeuwen announced the launch of five new flavors. In an official press release, Van Leeuwen says that the squadron will be exclusively available at 3,500 Walmart locations nationwide. But these flavors are part of a limited summer collection on a 10-week rotation, so get them while you can. Flavors include Campfire S'mores, Summer Peach Crisp, Honey Cornbread with Strawberry Jam, and Espresso Fior di Latte Chip -– but the fifth new flavor in the lineup might come as a bit of a shock.

Ever play the childhood game, "one of these things is not like the other?" This should be an easy round. We introduce Van Leeuwen's newest French ice cream flavor: Grey Poupon with Salted Pretzels.

Sweet and salty and surprising all over

On its Instagram account, @vanleeuwenicecream describes the flavor as "An unexpected yet delightful blend of sweet ice cream, honey-dijon swirl, and salted pretzels. Mais oui." Comments are enthusiastically positive. The bulk of them beg Van Leeuwen to make its latest seasonal flavor installation permanent.

This isn't the first time Van Leeuwen has surprised ice cream fans with unconventional flavors. Pizza, Hot Honey, and even the controversial Kraft Macaroni & Cheese flavor have all had their day in the French ice cream sun. "The Van Leeuwen team couldn't be more excited to give Walmart shoppers the opportunity to try out what are sure to be the next internet-breaking ice cream flavors of the summer, including our latest collaboration with Grey Poupon," says Ben Van Leeuwen, brand co-founder and CEO, according to the press release.  "Refreshing our flavor selection at Walmart stores has allowed Van Leeuwen to create new unique flavors widely available to ice cream lovers in every corner of the country."

This collaboration marks Grey Poupon's first venture into the ice cream world. With the introduction of its new Grey Poupon flavor, Van Leeuwen's mission "to make good ice cream that makes you feel good. Because a life without anything good is bad" is surely reaching new depths of realization.
