A Popular Nutella-Filled Snack Is Finally Coming To The US

Nutella may be advertised primarily as a sandwich spread, but it's tasty enough to be enjoyed in many forms, whether it be mixed in cookies, stuffed in french toast, drizzled over popcorn, or even eaten by the spoonful straight from the jar. But if you live in the U.S., you have to get a little creative if you want to make a snack out of the chocolate hazelnut spread. While Nutella sells an assortment of products like Nutella Biscuits and Nutella Muffins internationally, for many years only the jar was available stateside, and it wasn't until 2012 that Nutella &GO! finally joined it.

Fortunately for those who love Nutella, that's soon about to change, because according to a press release, Ferrero North America is bringing a product called Nutella B-Ready to the U.S. Popular across Europe, Nutella B-Ready is a snack bar consisting of a crunchy wafer shell filled with Nutella and puffed wheat crisps. In the near future, Americans will get the chance to try it locally.

Massachusetts and Connecticut will be the first to get Nutella B-Ready

There's no denying that Nutella is already popular in the U.S., but Ferrero North America isn't doing a full-fledged roll out for Nutella B-Ready. Instead, Mass Live reports that the company is starting with a test-run at select Big Y grocery stores in Massachusetts and Connecticut. As Mass Live reports, Ferrero previously used Big Y to test-market another one of its candies, and it proved to be a successful gauge of the market.

For Nutella B-Ready, Ferrero will be trialing different packaging and various in-store placements. Each participating Big Y will sell individual bars for 89 cents alongside candy and gum at the register, but for half of the locations, 6-packs of Nutella B-Ready for $3.29 will be located in the cookie aisle. For the other half, they'll be on the same shelf as breakfast bars. Will Americans see Nutella B-Ready as a snack or as a breakfast? Customers in Massachusetts and Connecticut will decide soon enough.
