Il Cane Rosso

Il Cane Rosso continues to be our favorite lunchtime stop in the Ferry Building, serving salads of chicories with dates and bacon, tiny roasted Brussels sprouts in brown butter, and that luxurious warm egg salad on brioche. Like chef Lauren Kiino herself, the food doesn't send up flares trumpeting its intelligence, but disappointments are rare and pleasures, always greater than anticipated.
