Alex Smith's cocktails at Honor are as complex as they are potent. For the Dar'Panch, for instance, he infuses vodka with the Bengali spice mixture known as panch puran, and The Corsican brings rum and falernum into a classic Manhattan, rendering it smoother and spicier. The space, formerly a crappy Chinese restaurant, has turned rich and inviting, with lighting that makes everyone look as if they've been cast in bronze.
