OneBar Packs Daily Fruit Serving Into Just 70 Calories

Get your fill from a OneBar

You're already quite familiar with the old saying about apples and the doctor.

But sometimes, an apple isn't the most convenient item to transport. Hence, we found ourselves intrigued by OneBar, a Bay Area-based line of snack bars ($12 for 12 bars) that pack a full serving of fruit into each 70-calorie package.

The bars have no gluten, soy, peanuts or eggs, and come in three flavors: Mango, Apple and Cherry. Made with dried fruit and fruit concentrate, the bars receive an extra boost of fiber from chicory, and sweetness from a powder found in fair-trade-sourced baobab, an antioxidant-rich superfood high in vitamins B and C.

More toothsome than you may expect, the bars satisfy midmorning or midafternoon sugar drops. We enjoyed the Cherry's hint of sourness, and that the Mango captured all the delicious attributes of one of our favorite snacks, dried mango–but was less sticky and far easier to chew.

Take that, Granny Smith.
