Where To Try McDonald's International Menu Items
Including Australia's bacon- and cheese-loaded fries
If you've ever been to a McDonald's abroad and now find yourself missing the taste of Australia's cheese- and bacon-loaded fries or Canada's smoky Angus burger, you're in luck. The global fast-food giant is bringing some of its international menu items stateside.
Visitors to the Golden Arches' new Chicago flagship location can widen their palates with popular items from around the world. According to a press release from the company, diners can enjoy options like Hong Kong's McSpicy chicken sandwich (a more peppery version of the classic McChicken), France's Mozza salad (pasta salad with roast tomatoes and arugula) and Brazil's McFlurry Prestígio (vanilla soft-serve with strawberry sauce and chocolate-covered coconut).
The location is designed in the same style of the chain's more recent Experience of the Future restaurants. Launched in 2016, the new approach features touch screens for self-ordering, table service and an ever-changing map showcasing the menu items' countries of origin. (The company plans to change all of its locations to this futuristic motif by 2020.)
Guests interested in trying the new global menu will have to try it before it changes, too. McDonald's states the selections will be rotating regularly, so get that Brazilian McFlurry while you can.
