Sumo Dog Chef Hot Dogs In L.A.

This just might be the best hot dog you'll find in L.A.

Nancy Silverton, L.A.'s champion of carbs and Italian cooking, is trading focaccia for hot dogs—well, just for the month.

The renowned partner of Mozza Restaurant Group and original founder of La Brea Bakery is next in line for Sumo Dog's guest chef collaboration, which kicked off last December with the owners of Jon & Vinny's and rotates every two weeks. The Koreatown hot dog stand, which went brick-and-mortar last year after gaining viral fame at Coachella, is known for in-house creations like the eponymous dog topped with wasabi relish and furikake.

Silverton's American Wagyu beef hot dog is topped with spicy Calabrian chile mayo, pepperoncini, caciocavallo cheese and a crisp red onion salad. This is lunch with a cause, too: Each collaboration benefits the chef's charity of choice; according to the L.A. Times, proceeds from Silverton's dog will go to the midnight basketball program at Nickerson Gardens Recreation Center.
