Restaurants Open On Christmas In NYC 2017

Plus, Feast of the Seven Fishes options for Christmas Eve

Prefer a memorable night out to a day spent in the kitchen? These New York City restaurants are open on Christmas (or Christmas Eve) and are ready to serve you a holiday meal that rivals anything you'd find at your in-laws.

① Gloria (December 23)

If you just can't wait until Christmas Eve to get the fun started, head to the Hell's Kitchen pescatarian restaurant for a Fiesta de los Siete Pescados. This Mexican take on the traditional meal includes wild striped bass aguachile and octopus mole.

② Nishi (December 24)

The newly reopened David Chang restaurant is a solid choice for the Feast of the Seven Fishes, with lobster raviolo fra diavolo, marinated sardine toast and bucatini with peekytoe crab. There'll also be a limited number of pasta tasting menus available, so book an early reservation to make sure you can score one.

③ Flora Bar (December 24)

The menu at the Met Breuer's restaurant—recently named one of NYC's top restaurants of 2017—is leaning into Chinese flavors, with four types of dumplings, Peking duck, Sichuan ribs and fried quail with fermented greens.

④ Miss Lily's (December 24)

Channel warmer vibes with a Christmas Eve jerk turkey, rum cake, spiced rum hot toddy and hot buttered rum. The normal menu will also be available, if you can't bear the thought of a meal without their jerk BBQ pork ribs.

⑤ Nom Wah x Seamore's (December 19 through 24)

This dinner series collaboration gives you six days' worth of options, in case you really do want to stay in. Chinese lobster cannoli, Maine uni crostini and General Tso's squid are just a handful of options you'll find on this playful menu at both Seamore's Nolita and Nom Wah Tu.

⑥ Antica Pesa (December 24 & 25)

Go full-on Rome at this Williamsburg restaurant, with a full variety of seafood dishes like pistachio-coated sole and grilled octopus. Make sure to end the night with nut-studded chocolate torrone and cinnamon gelato.

⑦ Benoit (December 24 & 25)

It would be perfectly acceptable to go for the chestnut and amarena cherry Yule log alone, but the savory options of sunchoke velouté, sweet spiced duck breast and filet mignon are also hard to pass up.

⑧ Green Fig (December 24 & 25)

Sign us up for any place that greets you with a cocktail. In this case, it's a festive vodka, pomegranate and maple syrup number that comes complimentary with the three-course menu of chestnut soup, eight-hour braised short rib ragout and baked country ham.

⑨ Jungsik (December 24, 25 & 31)

Forget to buy Christmas gifts this year? Keep it that way and spend your present money on dinner. The nine-course meal will set you back more than $300, but it includes caviar, bibimbap with shaved truffle, Korean-style grilled lobster and a truffle ice cream cone.

⑩ Chinese Tuxedo (December 25)

Take the tradition of Christmas Day Chinese food and give it an underground, mood-lit twist. The Chinatown restaurant, which made waves with its opening late last year, has proved itself a mainstay with dishes like sesame crab toast, crispy eggplant and house-made egg noodles.
