American Beers Are Getting Nutrition Labels Soon

Beers in the U.S. are getting nutrition labels

The Beer Institute (yup, that's a real thing) is about to change your beer game. The industry trade group just launched a "voluntary disclosure initiative" that encourages beer producers to add nutritional information to their bottles. According to the institute:

So far, most large-scale producers have signed on including Anheuser-Busch, Heineken and MillerCoors, plus the Craft Brew Alliance, which includes beer brands like Redhook and Kona Brewing. The institute is hoping to have labels on all participating beers by 2020, so drink guilt free while you still can.

This decision also preempts the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, which plans to hold an online forum this fall to update outdated rules, Eater reports.
