Andrew Zimmern, Marcus Samuelsson and more headliners for this year's Welcome Conference
We're in midst of food conference and awards season (the James Beard journalism awards are tonight), and today at noon, tickets go on sale ($175 apiece) for the third annual Welcome Conference, which will take place in Midtown Manhattan on June 6. This year, industry vets and conference founders Will Guidara (of Eleven Madison Park, among other places) and Journee's Anthony Rudolf are focusing on "being present"—as individuals, with one another and at work.
So who's speaking this year? Andrew Zimmern, the Sweetgreen trio, Michael Solomonov, Marcus Samuelsson, Chris and Alice Canlis of Seattle's Canlis (let's hope they bring some salad with them) and a host of other heavy hitters.
Illusionist Dan White is also on the docket, so perhaps there will be surprises of the magical nature.
