A Tulum Taco Truck Is Up For Sale, And It Could Be Yours

This Tulum taco truck is up for sale, and it could be yours for a small price

If you've ever dreamed of dropping everything to run your own food truck, we've got a better idea for you: Drop everything, move to Tulum, Mexico, and run your own food truck. A taco food truck. Fast Company reports that there's a taco truck for sale in the trendy, bohemian getaway for a mere 160,000 pesos, or $9,000.

Tulum itself has become an increasingly popular destination in recent years, thanks to its long list of attractive attributes. Think beautiful beaches; ecofriendly, boutique hotels; Mayan ruins right on the beach; enchanting swimming holes called cenotes; a laid-back but fashionable vibe; and last but not least, great food. Hot spot Hartwood put the town on the culinary world's map when it opened in 2010, joining a list of other great restaurants located there, too. When tourists travel to Tulum, they're definitely looking to eat well. That's where you and your taco truck come in.

Though it may sound like a pretty penny, Fast Company points out that the going rate for a food truck in New York is $24,000, with one truck reportedly going for as much as $50,000. That should make Tulum's taco truck sound like a bargain, but that's not all: The truck's owners say the price is negotiable. Have at it!

Make tacos; sell tacos; eat tacos in paradise. It's probably the coolest job prospect we've heard about maybe ever. It even beats the recent opening for an internship that consists of getting paid to visit bars and breweries around the country and Tweet, Instagram and blog about them.

If you can't find us this summer, check Tulum.
