Video: How To Make Compost Cookie Bars

Trash food gets a whole new meaning with these versatile cookie bars

Don't even think about throwing out that almost-empty bag of potato chips. We have an even better idea in mind for those last chip crumbs and pretzels-and while you're at it, snag that forgotten Halloween stash and then head for your stand mixer.

Whir it altogether, then spread all that everything-but-the-kitchen-sink goodness into a 9-by-13-inch baking dish to make cookie bars. Bake until golden at the edges, top with melted chocolate and try to have the patience to let it cool completely before slicing.

Get a big glass of milk ready; these thick and gooey, salty and sweet bars deserve to be dunked.
