What's For Dinner: Milk Punch, Thai Salad And Grilled Lobster

Give a new hope to your dinner with Thai salad and grilled lobster

Not feeling inspired by your usual dishes? Here's what's for dinner.

Star Wars fans everywhere, rejoice: It's May 4, the best pun-inspired holiday since Pi Day. Though we'd love to celebrate with some franchise-based recipes, Yoda and co. didn't exactly eat earth food in that galaxy far, far away. But we think the people (and Wookiees, and Droids) of the galaxy would have loved to have these recipes on their intergalactic dinner tables.

① Drink: Brandy Milk Punch

Tatooine can keep its blue milk—we'll take our dairy in punch form. This New Orleans beverage is so classic that it predates George Lucas himself, but so delicious that it deserves a permanent spot on the Mos Eisley cantina cocktail menu.

② Appetizer: Northern Thai-Style Herb Salad

Darth Vader's TIE fighter pilots have clearly never tried the Thai staple kaffir lime, or they would have nothing to be up in arms against. The light, refreshing ingredients in this salad would convert anyone from the dark side of the Force.

③ Main Course: Grilled Whole Lobster

The galaxy may have Luke Skywalker, but Earth has Luke Holden, president of New York's Luke's Lobster. Now that it's May, it's time to get your grill going, and there's nothing better to break it in with than this simple garlic- and butter-rubbed lobster. Plus, you won't need a lightsaber to take down your crustacean with our tips for maximal meat yield.
