Meet the new Chef de Cuisine at mar'sel

Introducing Charles Olalia, the new Chef de Cuisine at Terranea Resort's signature restaurant mar'sel.

Previously Executive Chef of Patina in Downtown L.A., Chef Olalia has worked with Guy Savoy and Thomas Keller. He's adding a Filipino flair to mar'sel's California cuisine, with dishes like dungeness crab chaud froid with apples, walnut and pomegranate, and red snapper in a banana salt crust with pickled papaya, coconut rice and lemongrass beurre blanc.

With sweeping ocean views, mar'sel is lauded as one of L.A.'s top dining destinations and features fresh ingredients locally and sustainably sourced straight from the Pacific, as well as its own gardens. A longtime critical darling, mar'sel received Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence and was named Best Fine Dining and Romantic Restaurant in the South Bay by the Los Angeles Times Readers' Choice Awards.
