The 7 Best Doughnuts In Los Angeles | Tasting Table LA

Our favorite doughnuts in L.A.

We never need a special occasion to eat a doughnut. And luckily, L.A. has about a billion ways to find doughy, sugary, indulgent bliss. Here, our favorite fried rings in town, in no particular order.

Red Velvet at SK's Donuts ($1)
Looks like a dark red Froot Loop, tastes like Depression-era cake. It lingers in your mouth after you've left the strip mall where you found it–in a good way.

Chocolate From The Crypt at Donut Friend ($2.50)
Got milk? Bypass the DIY doughnut bar for this chocolate cake with chocolate glaze and chocolate curls dusted with cinnamon and cayenne pepper.

Cinnamon Roll at Glazed Donut Bistro ($4)
Pull apart Gena Lora's newest addition and watch the cream cheese glaze ooze. Don't miss the (free) vanilla crème anglaise or tres leches dipping sauce.

S'mores at Kettle Glazed ($1.75)
A campy chocolate glazed doughnut with marshmallow and graham cracker topping and a gooey–you guessed it–marshmallow center.

Reese's Peanut Butter Pocket at Stan's Donuts ($3)
A lip-smacking peanut butter middle with a chocolate glaze and chocolate-chip top. In other words, an impressive riff on one of our favorite flavor combos.

Glazed at Randy's Donuts ($.90)
A classic at a classic, complete with an all-night drive-thru window. Both have massive kitsch appeal.

Ube Purple Crumb Cake Donut at DK's Donuts ($1.50)
The bright lavender hue comes from ube, a purple yam, but that sweet, tender crumb is the work of brother-and-sister team Sean and Mayly Tao.
