Build Your Own Chicken Sandwich At Leghorn | Tasting Table Chicago
The menu at Leghorn is like the best Choose Your Own Adventure ever written–only this time, no matter what you pick, you're going to end up with an awesome chicken sandwich.
Start on page one with a salty, juicy, pickle-brined bird (page two for a spicy Nashville hot). Do you want light or dark? Turn to page 20 for a breast or page 30 for a thigh.
The next (and hardest) choice: Do you want it on a house-made bun or on a flaky buttermilk biscuit? This decision might have you staring at the page for a while, just like when you were a kid.
Add some homemade pickles, lettuce, tomato, spicy mayo and Wisconsin cheddar. Turn to page 101. You've got an amazing sandwich ($6 to 8).
Eating it might not be quite as simple. These sandwiches explode with flavor–literally, all over your shirt. Keep a stack of napkins handy. Dip your nori-dusted fries ($3) in all the good stuff that gushes out. There's no sense in letting all those delicious toppings go to waste.
Don't skip the menu's sleeper hit, either. We ate up the green chile hush puppies made with cornmeal ($3) even faster than the sandwich and seriously considered going back for more.
Except that we were already slipping into a chicken coma.
The End.
