Benne-Seed Granola

Ingredients

  • 7 cups old-fashioned (rolled) oats
  • 2 cups steel-cut oats
  • 1 cup sliced almonds (preferably without skins)
  • ⅓ cup sesame seeds (benne seeds)
  • 6 tablespoons canola oil
  • ⅓ cup honey (preferably Johns Island honey)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. To a large bowl, add the old-fashioned and steel-cut oats, almonds, sesame seeds, oil and honey and stir until combined. Evenly spread the mixture on the prepared baking sheet and bake until lightly browned, 20 to 25 minutes.
  3. Cool completely before serving or transferring to an airtight container. Calories per Serving (½ cup): 260; Sodium: 0mg; Total Carbohydrate: 36g; Fiber: 5g; Protein: 7g; Fat: 11g
