Mescal Cocktail Recipe With Carrot Shrub

This punchy mescal drink is like a garden in cocktail form

You'll find expertly crafted drinks at George Washington Bar in New York City's Freehand Hotel, where head bartender Tristan Brunel is to thank for both classic cocktails and house creations like this earthy mescal number. "It is my interpretation of a lively garden," Brunel says, which accounts for the carrot shrub, ginger syrup, thyme liqueur and sprig of rosemary in the ingredient list.
