Open Market In Chicago

Two days, 60+ chefs and producers, one epic celebration of food

For five years, Tasting Table has documented the country's most exciting food culture. What we couldn't do is corral all that good stuff into one place. Until now.

We're bringing our very best finds to life with Tasting Table Open Market, a food bazaar and holiday shopping experience of epic (and really tasty) proportions.

It starts in Chicago on Friday, December 6, and continues on Saturday, December 7, as we gather our favorite local makers beneath one roof, kicking off the holidays with two days of eating, shopping and celebrating. Tickets are on sale now ($5 general admission, $30 VIP; click here to buy) for Open Market Chicago at Block 37, with a percent of ticket sales benefiting Share Our Strength.

We're talking chefs, pastry chefs and artisan producers; chocolatiers, charcuterie craftsmen and soda savants; Filipino chicken, locavore tacos, creative barbecue and [burp] more.

Here's how it's going down:

At Friday's night market (6 to 9 p.m.), restaurants from across the city–Urban Belly, Mott St., La Sirena Clandestina, Blackbird and Fat Rice, to name-drop a few–will be offering creative bites.

Saturday's daytime market (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.) is an artisan food fair, with small-batch products and more bites to eat on-site.

If you're in Chicago, come taste the city's best, stock your pantry, meet and mingle with your favorite chefs and makers, and shop for a gift or three.

If you're not in Chicago, fear not: Open Market is coming soon to a city near you.
