Take out a cocktail glass and add either 1½ or 2 ounces of your chosen spirit (depending on how strong you'd like the drink), at least four ounces of grapefruit juice (although you're free to add more to fill the glass), and ice. Stir gently, then serve. If you'd like to include a garnish — even though that's technically a third ingredient — a lime wheel or wedge are common choices. Additionally, since the drink consists of just two ingredients, it's a good idea to invest in a quality spirit as well as freshly squeezed grapefruit juice so that the flavor of the drink is as bright and fresh as possible.

How to customize the Greyhound
