Stauffer's Releases Pumpkin Spice And Apple Cinnamon Cookies For Fall

Seasonal sweet-toothed foodies, get excited. Stauffer's is launching two new cookies for fall, according to an official press release — although, "new" might not be exactly the right word. Longtime fans might recognize the brand's pumpkin spice and apple cinnamon SNAPS from years past, but the ingredients list has changed in a big and exciting way. The new versions of these SNAPS cookies are made with no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial flavors or colors, and no peanuts — and Stauffer's promises the flavor has remained the same.

The Apple Cinnamon SNAPS (which Stauffer's is branding as "a cookie with dazzle") were formerly called Apple Pie SNAPS. Stauffer's has updated the name to be a better fit for the cookie's flavor profile, per the press release. The previous iteration listed cinnamon, molasses, and "natural and artificial flavor" as ingredients — no longer, says Stauffer's. 'Tis the season for apple spice and (apparently) clean eating. The new version apparently also ditches the molasses but contains apple powder. The Pumpkin Spice SNAPS ("a cookie with pizazz") pack a spicy blend of nutmeg, cloves, ginger, and molasses.

These two limited-edition autumnal products will only last for as long as the season does. Apple Cinnamon and Pumpkin Pie SNAPS are hitting markets now and sticking around through late November, but Stauffer's has yet to announce a specific end date. Fall-fevered foodies have the green light to look for these seasonal SNAPS at their local Weis Markets, Wegmans, Tops, Food City, and more retailers nationwide.

A familiar fall favorite gets a fresher facelift

Stauffer's SNAPS cookies are a sensory trip. Texturally, they're crispy and crunchy, comparable to a cookie thin. (ASMR lovers, rise up.) The two spiced fall flavors in particular are super aromatic as soon as you open the bag. Apple Cinnamon and Pumpkin Spice join Stauffer's Ginger and Lemon SNAPS flavors, which are available year-round. A 14-ounce bag runs for $2.99 at Wegmans.

For ultra-autumnal enjoyment, these SNAPS could be dunked into a steaming mug of apple spice tea on the porch. But, for even more uses, the flavorful crispy cookies could be pulverized in a food processor and repurposed into other recipes to keep them fresh all season long. Intrepid home bakers could blend with butter and use them as a reimagined graham cracker pie crust. Or, these cookie crumbs would also make a crispy topping for caramel ice cream sundaes or a tray of warm blondies.
