Krispy Kreme's Strawberry Glazed Donuts Are Coming Back For Labor Day Weekend

In what it's calling one "perfect last bite of summer," Krispy Kreme is bringing back its strawberry glazed donuts just in time for the final stretch before the turn of the seasons: Labor Day weekend. Per an official press release, the strawberry glazed donuts will exclusively be available from Friday, September 1 through Monday, September 4 via the Krispy Kreme mobile app or in person at participating stores across the U.S. and Canada. To see if a local location is keeping them in stock, fans can visit the Krispy Kreme website.

The return of the fan-favorite donut isn't the only good news. In collaboration with the release, Hailey Bieber's cosmetic line, rhode, will be also be launching a limited-edition strawberry-glaze flavored Peptide Lip Treatment (grown-up former Lip Smacker fans, rise up). Per the rhode website, the product retails for $16 and will hit the market on August 28 at 9 a.m. PT; eager fans can hop on the waitlist to get a taste of the iconic flavor a few days before the eponymous donut is released. Either way, interested fans should certainly put a little pep in their step, as Krispy Kreme's website is already advertising its pumpkin spice donut and coffee collection ("Last bite of summer," indeed).

A sweet collab for strawberry lovers

Krispy Kreme's strawberry glazed donuts first hit stores in 2020, and by 2021 they had receded beyond the horizon like a fleeting sunset — but fans never forgot about them. Foodies went wild when they first hit shelves in 2020, inspiring the moniker "glaze craze." According to Krispy Kreme Global Chief Brand Officer Dave Skena, sweet-toothed foodies have been asking for the strawberry glazed donut's return nearly constantly ever since. Now, for one weekend only, their prayers have been answered.

Fans have already taken to Instagram to share their excitement for the donut's comeback and its accompanying rhode lip product. On an official post by Krispy Kreme announcing the duo, one fan commented, "Best collab EVER!!!" Another commenter echoed, "WE LOVE HAILEY AND KRISPY KREME DONUTS." The collab has all the makings of another success; earlier this year, Krispy Kreme partnered with Planet Bee for the "Oh, Honey!" limited-edition donut line, which included plantable seed paper with every Honey Lover's Dozen box to encourage the growth of wildflowers, replenishing honeybee ecosystems.

It's been an eventful year for Krispy Kreme. In March, the chain announced that it would be pulling its packaged bags of mini donuts from grocery stores to turn its full focus toward its fresh bakery spread. And in 2022, Krispy Kreme sold a record-breaking 1.6 billion donuts, representative of 9% year-over-year growth. Whether the fleeting return of strawberry glaze will help them top that number remains to be seen.
