Planters Expands Cashew Lineup With Three Eclectic New Flavors

In certain retail stores across the country, Planters has introduced three new flavors of cashews (via a press release). Just in time for your summer outings and adventures, this eclectic new lineup was created after sourcing feedback from consumers as well as experts within the industry. The trio represents both salty and sweet flavor profiles, creating unique takes on a favorite snack: cinnamon brown sugar, dill pickle, and rosemary and sea salt. These flavors join the ranks of Planters cashews that are already beloved by many, including honey-roasted cashews and deluxe whole cashews.

These cashews are available in 5-ounce bags, each containing four grams of protein, making them ideal for snacking on the go. These pre-packaged servings are quick additions to lunches or even work as a crunchy element to your favorite dessert or savory dish. In July, Planters plans to amp up the marketing efforts for these new flavors in order to promote their unique tastes and packaging.

Breaking down the new cashew flavors

The cinnamon brown sugar cashews represent a combination of the salty crunch of roasted cashews combined with the rich sweetness of cinnamon and sugar. The dill pickle flavor captures that unbeatable sour and savory taste on the tongue that is the signature of a perfectly crunchy pickle. And finally, the rosemary and sea salt flavor merges a salty cashew with the pleasant herbaceousness of a beloved seasoning.

Besides eating them by the handful, try subbing in the cinnamon brown sugar cashews for another nut in any of your sweet baked goods — such as a nutty coffee cake. The rosemary and sea salt cashews will add an herby accent to the vegan parmesan in this vegan meatball recipe, rounding out the perfect pasta night. And if you're wanting to take a charred broccolini to the next level with some tang, why not top it off with some chopped dill pickle cashews? The possibilities are endless.
