There's a new spicy and smoky addition to Cheetos' line-up of snacks — Cheetos Flamin' Hot Smoky Ghost Pepper Puffs. According to a press release sent to Tasting Table, these impressive puffs are arriving just in time for summer, making them perfect for backyard barbecues, picnics, and days at the beach. And this version of Flamin' Hot Cheetos will definitely give the others a run for their money.
These new snacks get their heat from one powerful pepper: the ghost pepper.It's one of the hottest peppers out there today, and it's considered up to 100 to 400 times hotter than a jalapeño. It packs more of a punch than even a scotch bonnet pepper. There are only a few peppers that surpass the ghost pepper — we're looking at you, Carolina Reaper. So if you're looking for intense heat with a smoky flavor, Cheetos Flamin' Hot Smoky Ghost Pepper Puffs are definitely up for the job.
A spicy snack for summertime
Since they were introduced in the early 1990s, the Flamin' Hot Cheetos lineup has featured a number of specialty flavors, including Cheetos Crunchy Flamin' Hot Tangy Chili Fusion. Some fans may remember the Flamin' Hot Ghost Pepper Cheetos from 2020, but this latest version comes with a new twist that takes this snack to the next level. This new member of the Cheetos Flamin' Hot family is only around for a short time, though. This mouth-burning snack will be available in 2.3 and 7-ounce bags exclusively at Walmart starting May 22, but will only be available until August 14.
