Post Celebrates Disney's 100th Anniversary With Retro Cereals

Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and the gang have been entertaining and delighting kids and adults around the world for 100 years. For this impressive anniversary, Post Consumer Brands wants to add some merriment to the most important meal of the day with limited-edition cereals that are sure to get Disney fans feeling nostalgic.

But Post isn't the only brand gearing up to celebrate the anniversary. Disney is also partnering with various companies, including Lego, Adidas, Mattel Inc., Coach, and Givenchy, to create special 100th-anniversary consumer products for its Disney 100 Years of Wonder, reports New York Business Journal. Additionally, events and special promotions are planned throughout 2023, including at Disneyland where the fun starts January 27, with the new "Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway" attraction, the return of the "Magic Happens" parade and special anniversary food menus at the theme park (per the Disneyland website).

Perhaps, the special Disney cereals from Post may best be eaten from a special anniversary set of Pyrex dishes (sold at Costco), featuring Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Winnie the Pooh, and Piglet on the glass bowls and lids, as reported by Apartment Therapy.

A bowlful of nostalgia

Cereal and Disney lovers can dine on a special themed fruity cereal and a confetti cake-flavored cereal throughout 2023, according to an announcement.

Who else to pick for the themed cereal but Mickey Mouse? The shape of the fruity cereal pieces will be of Mickey's iconic head. A second cereal, a confetti cake flavor, will also be sold and have changing packaging throughout the year to feature three Disney and Pixar characters from different periods of Disney's 100 years. Both kinds of cereal will feature various Disney and Pixar characters and will be sold at major grocery stores and retailers.

For those looking for a longer-lasting memento, the new confetti cake flavor cereal will also be sold in a special edition collector's Mickey Mouse metal tin available exclusively at Walmart.com for $40. In addition to the new confetti cake cereal, the tin will contain a special edition cereal box with a design that pays homage to the first-time Post and Disney collaborated in 1934 with Post Toasties.

So, go ahead — grab a bowl, a spoon, and one of these limited-edition Disney 100th anniversary cereals and turn on your favorite Disney movie for a genuinely celebratory breakfast.
