Hostess Is Now Selling Mini Versions Of Its Most Iconic Snacks

When you think of a snack that conjures up childhood memories, a Hostess product probably comes to mind. Hostess has several iconic products like Twinkies, Cupcakes, Ding Dongs, and Donettes. According to Bakery and Snacks, the OG that started it all was the Hostess Chocolate Cupcake, which was invented in 1919, and the signature white squiggle is still iconic more than 100 years later. In 1930, the Twinkie was born, although it didn't quite resemble what we know and love today. Today reports that the original Twinkie was made with a banana filling. Due to banana rationing during WWII, the company switched to a vanilla-flavored cream that we know and love today.

Even though Hostess celebrated 100 years in 2019, it's shown no sign of slowing down. In 2021 Hostess launched its new snack, Crispy Minis. Crispy Minis are bite-size crunchy snacks with a creamy topping (via Brand Eating). The snacks are offered in strawberries & creme flavors, cookies & creme, and mint chocolate. This year, Hostess launched another line of products that follows the miniature, bite-size snack trend.

Classic treats become poppable

Hostess's new snack treat line is called Bouncers. With its new treat, Hostess took Twinkies, Ding Dongs, and Donettes, and transformed them into bite-size, poppable versions, perfect for snacking. The inspiration behind the new snack treats was to deliver the products customers love in a mess-free way. The miniature versions of the snack cakes are the perfect lunchbox surprise to brighten up kids, or adults' day (per Hostess Brands).

Bouncers are currently available in three flavors: Glazed Twinkies, Glazed Chocolate Ding Dongs, and Cinnamon Donettes. Both the Twinkies and the Ding Dongs are covered in a glazed coating. The Donettes are essentially glazed donut holes with a sugary cinnamon filling (via Hostess Brands). The packaging states that none of the Bouncers are made with high-fructose corn syrup and highlights the use of real ingredients. The Donettes are made with real cinnamon, Twinkies with real vanilla, and cupcakes are made with cocoa powder (via PR Newswire). The Bouncers are sold in a box with five individual packages, each containing three snack cakes. According to Hostess's website, you can also purchase a single-serving package of Bouncers with four miniature snack cakes. Yum!
