Chef Adrienne Cheatham Created A Sweet Sauce For New Line Our Pantry

There are plenty of options for jarred and canned sauces lining the aisles of the grocery store, but sometimes it can be hard to know what you're really buying. New gourmet and eco-friendly sauce line Our Pantry hopes to change that and is partnering with all-star chefs like Adrienne Cheatham to make it a reality.

Our Pantry is a new line of sauces founded by Carolyna De Laurentiis. One of the unique qualities of the brand is its focus on transparency. Not only does the brand's "soil to sauce" approach give consumers a clear idea of what ingredients are used, but it also tells you where those ingredients are sourced from. The company claims this transparency gives it more control over the quality of the ingredients and the farming practices it chooses to align with.

Our Pantry partners with a range of suppliers from farming cooperative Cosi Come in Sicily — where they source yellow cherry tomatoes — to sustainable and regenerative coconuts farms such as Covico in India. The full list of Our Pantry's suppliers and the ingredients they source is available on its website. Another aspect of this transparency is giving credit to the chefs that are designing these future pantry staples.

Adrienne Cheatham mixes influences for new sauce

For its founding lineup of chef partners Our Pantry chose to work with three female chefs from across the culinary world. Adrienne Cheatham, Mariana Velasquez, and Silvia Barban were each tapped to design their own sauces for the inaugural Our Pantry lineup.

Adrienne Cheatham might be best known for her appearance in Season 15 of "Top Chef", but she has been working in the upper echelon of fine dining restaurants like Red Rooster and the three Michelin-starred Le Bernardin for many years. According to Southern Kitchen, Cheatham is also known for her "elevated southern dishes", though she told Tasting Table that working with chefs Eric Ripert and Marcus Samuelsson taught her how to incorporate international influences into her own cooking. This is captured in the Sweet Ginger BBQ sauce she crafted for Our Pantry which uses red miso paste and coconut nectar, infusing unexpected flavors into a classic southern sauce. All of these sauces are available for preorder now and will launch on September 20, 2022.
