"MasterChef" fans know the stress of the kitchen all too well. Timed food competitions put you on the edge of your seat, especially when cooking can go from good to bad in an instant. If you are nervous just watching the show, imagine how the contestants must feel! A new environment with other home chefs is already hard enough, but cameras add a whole other layer when it comes to pressure from the kitchen. "MasterChef" icon Christine Hà knows this feeling as she took on challenge after challenge until winning the Season 3 crown.

During an exclusive interview with Tasting Table, Christine Hà revealed her hardest challenge on the show. Does the sushi tag team challenge ring a bell? She also disclosed what it was like to work with "MasterChef" judges Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich, and Graham Elliot. Hà told us that one particular judge, the infamous Gordon Ramsay, gave her advice during an episode that has stuck with her to this day.

Ramsay told Hà to be bold

When in doubt, go to Gordon Ramsay for some solid life advice. Christine Hà did just that during her "MasterChef" season, as she revealed her most memorable experience with the chef and food mogul. After baking an apple pie on the show, Hà explained that she thought she was at the bottom of the totem pole. "But instead," Hà said, "Gordon just gave me a piece of advice that I take with me to this day. And what he told me was that I should start believing in myself and to be bold." According to BroadwayWorld, Gordon called the apple pie recipe in question, "Humble Apple Pie," and ended up approving of the dessert despite Christine's uncertainty. Hà told us that Ramsay helped "boost her self-confidence" and "trust her instincts more when it comes to things that she does in the kitchen."

Hà said she would recommend this advice to future "MasterChef" contestants or home cooks as well. Hà certainly took it to heart, as she now owns two Vietnamese restaurants in Houston, wrote a best-selling cookbook, "Recipes from My Home Kitchen: Asian and American Comfort Food," was welcomed back as a guest judge (most recently in Season 12), and fans are following her as she re-watches her MasterChef Season 3 competition online.
