You Could Win These Prizes From Starbucks' 2022 Summer Game
If you're a coffee lover looking for a fun way to kick off your summer fun, look no further than the Starbucks Summer Game, which officially kicked off on May 16 and will continue through June 17.
According to Chew Boom, this year's game is called "Starbucks Summer Game: Road to Paradise" and is road trip-themed. The game, which Starbucks Rewards members in the U.S. and Canada can play through the Starbucks app, includes a spin-to-win element as well as a bubble-popping puzzle. Spins are earned by making Starbucks purchases — like the new summer-inspired Chocolate Cream Cold Brew – and completing in-game challenges, and can qualify players for instant prizes, including Starbucks gift cards, rewards stars, and digital postcards that are used towards winning the grand prize (per Elite Daily).
There are over five million prizes available to win in this year's game, including four grand prizes. For the first time ever, Starbucks will be giving five people — four Americans and one Canadian (via Starbucks) — a chance to win a brand new 2023 Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric Compact Luxury SUV, a car valued at over $50,000.
Driving for sustainability
This year's grand prizes are quite a step up from last year when, as The Focus reports, the more valuable prizes were pairs of Bose Frames audio sunglasses worth just under $200. In addition to the prize value going up, the electric car giveaway is part of Starbucks' plan to promote sustainability, which includes a goal of reducing waste from it's stores by 50% by 2030 through the use of reusable cups, according to a company statement released in March.
Elite Daily reported that winners of the Volvos will also receive as part of their prize a ChargePoint Home Flex, so they can charge their new electric car up at home between trips. ChargePoint will also be outfitting 15 Starbucks locations between Denver and the company's headquarters in Seattle with Volvo branded EV charging stations to promote road tripping — and Starbucks stops — among electric vehicle drivers (per Chew Boom).
Starbucks Rewards Members are eligible to earn two prize chances each day, except on June 2 and 9, when they will be eligible to play four times.
