How The Pandemic Inspired Ina Garten's New Cookbook

In the early days of COVID, Ina Garten was inspired to share the recipe for a huge Cosmo with fans (which she named drinking more of one of her goals for 2022), it seems she didn't stop there. Those who closely follow Garten know that the self-made gourmand likes to stay busy, and on March 21 the Barefoot Contessa announced in an Instagram post that the pandemic also inspired enough recipes to fill a whole cookbook.

Along with a photo of the cover of her new cookbook, "Go-to Dinners," Garten explained, "Cooking during the pandemic got pretty crazy, even for me, so I devised all kinds of ways to get dinner on the table with the least amount of stress. My new book GO-TO DINNERS is a collection of easy, make ahead, prep ahead, freeze ahead, and simply assembled recipes that you'll want to make over and over again."

When "Go-to Dinners" will be released

Followers couldn't wait to share their excitement in the comments of Ina Garten's Instagram post announcing the new book. Of course, there were plenty of heart emojis to go along with the congratulatory comments, with fans (and even some celebs) sharing how excited they are for the upcoming cookbook. "Yayyyyyyy!!!!!! Can't wait! Congrats Ina!" wrote filmmaker Nancy Meyers.

One fan asked Garten what her new favorite recipe from the cookbook is, to which she responded, "Salmon Teriyaki & Broccolini is the recipe I've made the most. It takes 5 minutes to prep and it all cooks together in one oven in 12 minutes! Delicious!" While it's likely some of the recipes have or will be shared on the Barefoot Contessa website, fans will have to wait until October 2022 to get their hands on the cookbook, when it will be available in stores and released to those who preorder.
