Reed's Culture Club's Raw Organic Kombucha

Revisiting kombucha with Reed's Culture Club

Remember your obsessive relationship with kombucha? That tangy, tart drink with fizzy undertones?

We may have been cheating momentarily with drinking vinegars and juice cleanses, but one sip of Reed's Culture Club's raw, organic kombucha (suggested retail price of $3.50 for 13.5 ounces) and we rekindled our love for the healthful tonic.

The line of fruity, spicy drinks is made by blending oolong and yerba maté teas with spring water and proprietary cultures; the slightly effervescent libations are naturally high in enzymes, probiotics and organic acids that cleanse and detoxify the body.

Because Reed's specializes in ginger ale, most of the eight flavors riff on a concentrated ginger base, such as Goji, Hibiscus Grapefruit and Passion Mango. There's also a lime-spiked coconut water incarnation. Each is sweet, but not overpoweringly so.

We've been reunited, and it tastes so good.
