Get PTO For Having A Puppy

Excellent news for all the expectant paw-rents of the world

Good news for expectant paw-rents of the world. Earlier this week, Scottish brewery BrewDog announced a new benefit for its 1,000 employees: one week off of paid pup-ternity leave.

Any person who has had to clean up pee stains at midnight can attest to the difficulty of taking care of a newborn dog, and BrewDog co-founders James Watt and Martin Dickie commiserate. "We wanted to take the stress out of the situation and let our teams take the time they need to welcome their new puppy or dog into their family," Watt tells USA Today.

The canine-friendly craft brewery, which was founded in 2007, is set to open its first stateside location this spring in Columbus, Ohio, where employees will also be eligible to use the paid week off to care for their new pup. Also of note: In case you have, you know, a real baby, BrewDog has expanded its maternity and paternity policy as well.
