How To Make Homemade Orangecello Video

Make the most of winter citrus with this bright orange liqueur

Limoncello isn't the only 'cello in town. This is the time of year to sub in any winter citrus to make the sweet and bright liqueur of your dreams. In this variation, Sebastian Zutant, co-owner and beverage director at The Red Hen in Washington, D.C., uses ripe, zesty oranges. It couldn't be easier to make (see the recipe): All you need are oranges, a vanilla bean and a bottle of vodka.

Since it's laced with fresh vanilla, this orangey concoction brings to mind one of our favorite frozen summer treats: the Creamsicle. And while this winter DIY is just a bit more alcoholic, consider it necessary to keep you warm all winter.
