'Chef's Table' Season 3 Lands On Netflix September 2
Mark your calendar: Chef's Table season three will drop on Netflix September 2, just in time for a Labor Day binge fest. This season takes viewers to France for four episodes featuring chefs including Alain Passard of L'Arpège; Michel Troisgros, who comes from a culinary dynasty; Adeline Grattard, who blends Chinese and French flavors and techniques at yam'Tcha; and Alexandre Couillon, whose restaurant La Marine is on a small island off the French coast.
Creator David Gelb's first two seasons, which take viewers to the edge of the earth with Francis Mallmann and into the pristine kitchen of Grant Achatz's Alinea in Chicago, noticeably skip over France as a filming destination. That was no accident, Gelb told me earlier this year: "We intentionally didn't use a French chef before, hoping we would have an opportunity like this." Adding: "In a lot of ways, it's sort of the mecca of food. So many of the techniques that are standard in kitchens across the world come from France."
Season four, the last one scheduled (at least for now), will release in 2017 with episodes dedicated to Jeong Kwan, a Buddhist nun living in South Korea, and L.A.'s Nancy Silverton.
