Prisma Cold Brew Coffeemaker

This sleek coffee gadget makes cold brew in just 10 minutes

We live in an impatient world, where microwaves and road rage reign. So it's weird to think the half-day process that comprises making a batch of cold brew only recently has been cut down to a mere 10 minutes. Say hello to the Prisma Cold Brew coffeemaker, which made its debut at trade shows last month and plans to be on the market next year.

Crafted by FirstBuild, a co-creation community backed by GE Appliances, the ultramodern coffeemaker was overseen by seven project managers and a handful of contributors to tweak the design, including figuring out how much silicone to wrap about the glass carafe to prevent burning fingers.

Together, they've relied on a vacuum infusion to concentrate the flavor of the water and coffee grounds in minutes instead of hours. It's a groundbreaking appliance and so far good, according to the meticulous tester at CNET.

Soon FirstBuild will launch an Indiegogo campaign for cold-brew lovers to test out for themselves. How's that for a morning perk?
