Google Shares 2015 Thanksgiving Trends And Top Searches

What people are cooking and searching this Thanksgiving, according to Google

Thanksgiving is just a few days away, and the big feast raises a lot of questions.

Like, what's the only search term that's trending above stuffing recipe? Which state values sweet potatoes over stuffing? And who is the single person people seem to trust with their Turkey Day spreads?

Google knows, and the answers are: which NFL games are going down on Thanksgiving Day, North Carolina and Ina Garten, respectively. This year, the search engine giant has compiled the big Thanksgiving search trends and searing queries submitted by Google users into one eye-opening report.

Some findings were obvious, like the top searches for how-tos are all turkey related—how long to cook a turkey, how to cook a turkey, how to brine a turkey. But it also taught us a lot about our fellow Americans. In that same search, weirdly, people are also looking into how to boil eggs and cook spaghetti squash. We also learned that the most ardent Thanksgiving fans (or least versed in the pilgrim feast) seem to live in Fairbanks, Alaska, and Jonesboro, Arkansas, with both clocking in at an even 100 for search interest in Thanksgiving, compared to 35 in New York City.

All in all, it's a fascinating look at the storied American tradition via metrics, and you can see the rest of it yourself right here. Consider yourself #grateful.
