How To Make Pizza With English Muffins
The fastest personal pizza just got cuter. Start with a split-open English muffin. Toast it for a proper crispy crust, spoon on tomato sauce and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella. Forget packaged pepperoni. Instead, layer on your favorite dry-cured charcuterie. Go global for flavor inspiration, using any sausages with unique spice-and-herb combinations, and in 15 minutes, you'll have yourself a well-cultured snack. Here are four sausage possibilities:
French – Saucisson Sec – garlic, black pepper
Italian – Finocchiona – fennel, garlic
Chinese – Lap Cheong – soy sauce, sugar
Portuguese – Linguiça – garlic, paprika
Preheat the oven to 400°. On the inside of each toasted English muffin: Spread 3 tablespoons of pizza sauce, sprinkle with ¼ cup of shredded mozzarella cheese and top with thinly sliced charcuterie pieces, then bake until the cheese is melted and just starts to brown, 7 to 9 minutes. Garnish with a few basil leaves to finish.
