What's For Dinner: Roast Chicken, Buttered Corn And Caramel Corn

Prep for a night of stargazing with this celestial menu

Not feeling inspired by your usual dishes? Here's what's for dinner.

We're used to hearing about stars in the culinary world—Michelin stars, that is. And now that it's mid-August and the height of the annual Perseid meteor shower, we have shooting stars on the brain. Since proper stargazing requires a full belly, dig into this star-studded menu before heading to the great outdoors.

① Main Course: All-Star Roast Chicken

These six chefs know their way around a chicken—and we're thanking our lucky stars that they joined forces to give us this recipe. Even if you bypass the overnight brining, a zesty three-spice rub and additional seasoning from the inside out will still add plenty of flavor to your bird.

② Side Dish: Chipotle Buttered Corn

This may look like a regulation bowl of butter-loaded corn, however, one secret ingredient makes it out-of-this-world delicious. A single star anise pod, lurking in the pot as the corn boils, gives the sweet kernels a surprising spiced edge.

③ Dessert: Moonshine Caramel Corn

Literal moonshine is the opposite of what you want for optimal meteor sightings, but you'll make an exception when it comes to this sticky caramel corn. Make sure you take extra to snack on when you head out to stargaze later.
