You may have noticed that we're more than a little bit obsessed with Southern food. Who could blame us, when there's so much to love—and so many talented chefs?

From traditionalists like Rodney Scott, who still hand-chops the wood that smokes his family's famous whole-hog barbecue, to pot stirrers like Hugh Acheson, who's agitating to establish a national home ec curriculum, the South is full of some pretty delicious characters.
