New Canned Beer For Summer From Sixpoint And Brooklyn Brewery
In summers past, fans of Brooklyn Brewery's easy-sipping Summer Ale and Sixpoint Craft Ales' quenching Sweet Action have faced a conundrum: The two beloved local brews were available only by the bottle or glass growler–vessels not suitable for toting to the park or the beach.
Now, the local craft breweries are selling their summery beers in aluminum cans.
This is good news for the container's ever-growing fan base, which has embraced the pop-top for its lightweight, quick-chilling, UV-blocking properties. Worried about a tinny metallic taste? It's been long vanquished, thanks to modern cans' water-based polymer lining.
In New York, you'll find both Brooklyn's golden Summer Ale and its flagship Brooklyn Lager in 12-ounce cans, while Sixpoint stores Sweet Action–as well as the hoppy Bengali Tiger IPA, spicy and bitter Righteous Ale and sparkling Crisp–in 16-ounce tall-boys.
Find the Brooklyn Brewery cans at Whole Foods and Good Beer; while Sixpoint's beer are for sale at Fairway, Food Emporium, Bierkraft and Duane Reade.
