Natural Wine Company Opens In Williamsburg

A new hub for hands-off wine

Finding natural wines at your quotidian bottle shop can be a hunt-and-peck affair: You need either an informed salesperson or some base knowledge of your own to spot one of these hands-off wines.

Or you can head to Williamsburg, where the recently opened Natural Wine Company sells only bottles made via natural, organic and/or biodynamic practices.

What's primarily been a French movement has now found its way into every winemaking corner of the planet: In addition to filling its shelves with some of our favorite French producers (Binner, Calek, Puffeney), the Natural Wine Co. also stocks bottles from as far away as New Zealand and South America, and as nearby as the North Fork (via Shinn Estate Vineyards' fabulous wines).

Co-owner Ross Bingham–who cooked at Barbuto, Lupa and The Green Table before moving to retail–believes that natural wines are best enjoyed with food. And to convince you of the same, the shop has a special offer for TT readers: Bring a recipe to the Natural Wine Co. and the staff will find you its ideal pairing, then give you 10 percent off your purchase (a discount that normally applies only to cases).
