Krispy Kreme's New Donut Collection Has Autumn Written All Over It
The first day of fall in the Northern Hemisphere is typically September 22nd or 23rd; on the contrary, those dates are also the first day of spring in the Southern Hemisphere (per Britannica). So while half of the world is leaving cold weather behind, the other half is welcoming it. Trees' leaves begin changing, there is less daylight, and consumers everywhere are obsessed with pumpkin and other fall flavors. While some people were over the pumpkin spice craze before it even began, others found comfort and nostalgia in the seasonal flavor. There's actually a scientific reason as to why you may love pumpkin spice so much.
Companies of every degree make sure to capitalize on pumpkin spice. Of course, Starbucks has its iconic pumpkin spice latte, and there's an abundance of pumpkin spice coffee creamers, pancake mix, and cereals. However, there's even pumpkin spice-flavored lip balm, pumpkin spice latte deodorant, pumpkin spice-flavored dental treats for dogs, and pumpkin patch air freshener (via New York Post). Krispy Kreme releases Autumn's Orchard collection with 5 special donuts
From September 19th to October 9th, 2022, Krispy Kreme is offering its new seasonal Autumn's Orchard donut collection, which includes three new flavors. In the new collection, you'll find Krispy Kreme's apple fritter that has a cinnamon and diced apple filling with a glaze; a spice apple filled donut with an "apple cider flavored filling" and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar; a salted caramel brownie donut that has "salted caramel brownie batter flavored frosting, salted caramel drizzle, brownie bits, and fall leaf sprinkles;" a maple pecan cheesecake donut, which has "cheesecake flavored filling," is "dipped in maple flavored icing," drizzled with more maple flavored icing, and sprinkled with pecan pieces; and a classic glazed pumpkin spice cake donut (per Krispy Kreme).
Each donut can be purchased individually, or customers can purchase a four-pack of apple fritters or the Autumn Lover's Dozen, which includes three each of the pumpkin spice donut, spice apple filled donut, maple pecan cheesecake donut, and salted caramel brownie donut. Regarding the new collection, Global Chief Brand Officer for Krispy Kreme Dave Skena said, "Fall brings a bounty of apple and pecans and flavors of maple and pumpkin spice for us to enjoy.
