Olamaie Chefs Share Their Favorite Hidden Spots In Austin

Where Olamaie chefs Michael Fojtasek and Grae Nonas get their kicks in Austin

Following in the tradition of other modern Southern restaurants like Husk and The Catbird Seat, chefs Michael Fojtasek and Grae Nonas of Olamaie are changing the game with what they describe as their "garden-inspired Southern" food. When the two Tasting Table 46 members aren't gathering inspiration from vintage cookbooks or shopping at the farmers' market, you can find them mining Austin's restaurant scene for hidden gems.

"The cool thing about Austin is that even though there's an incredible culinary scene in the news and buzzed about, there are even more amazing places to check out that have been around for years and years," Fojtasek says.

They shared with us their favorite off-the-beaten-path spots in Austin for our restaurant discovery app, DINE by Tasting Table.
