'Bon Appétit' Names The 10 Hottest Restaurants In America

What are the best new restaurants in America? Here are the finalists

Bon Appétit's Andrew Knowlton and Julia Kramer spent much of the past year traveling, eating their way through many (many!) of the country's new restaurants. Earlier this month, they shared their list of the 50 nominees for the best new restaurants in America, and today, the pair dropped the Hot 10, their official list of the 10 best of the bunch. On the top of the list is Atlanta's Staplehouse, a top-notch new Southern restaurant that dedicates all of its proceeds to aid restaurant workers in crisis.

Other members of the list include New York's Wildair and Los Angeles's fermentation lab-cum-restaurant Baroo (check out their recipe for pickled watermelon rind)—two places that in their own ways defy categorization. The list also highlights smaller cities like Providence, Rhode Island, and Asheville, North Carolina, which aren't always recognized on the national restaurant stage.

Hats off to all of the winners.
