6 Summer Rosé Wine Picks From Estela's Thomas Carter

Picks from one of our favorite wine guys, Thomas Carter of NYC's Estela

It's rosé season, people. Time to break out the lovely pink wine all day, every day.

Thomas Carter, wine director at NYC's Estela, gave us the rosés he's drinking (and pouring) right now–a stellar, well-priced list ranging from Provence to Corsica with two great bottles from California's North Coast.

"My picture perfect summer day is when you're drinking a little bit earlier, and rosés are perfect companion," says Carter. "They're bright, they're fresh and they go with anything."

2012 Domaine Hauvette Petra Les Baux de Provence ($22)

Layered and deep with red summer fruit. Compelling minerality and sweeping acidity.

2013 Cirelli Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo ($15)

Deeper in style and in color with dark sour cherry fruit and a bit of tannic grip.

2012 Domaine Comte Abbatucci Gris Imperial ($23)

Very herbal, stony and a bit leathery.

2013 Ameztoi Rubentis Getariako Txakolina ($16)

Strawberry with firm underpinning of mineral and a slight spritz.

2013 Arnot-Roberts Lake County Rosé ($23)

Very fresh strawberry and citrus rind with a hint of salinity.

2013 Copain Tous Ensemble Rosé Anderson Valley ($22)

Fruity, fresh and delicious.
