Southwest Airlines Is Selling $39 Tickets

The sale is in honor of the carrier's 46th birthday

When your birthday rolls around, you might pick up a few dozen doughnuts for your office or, if you're feeling particularly generous, invite your friends out for the once-a-year celebratory dinner. But if you happen to be an immensely popular airline like Southwest, you celebrate your big day by launching an absurd sale on flights.

In honor of its 46th birthday, the budget-friendly carrier is offering one-way flight deals to destinations across the U.S., the Caribbean and Latin America for as low as $39, Travel + Leisure reports.

Of course, those under-$40 fares are just the icing on this birthday cake: Budget in a few more Andrew Jacksons to your travel fund, and you'll be flying to destinations like Cuba for as little as $99 or Vegas for a paltry $58 (depending on where you're flying from, of course).

The super sale is for flights departing between August 22 and December 16 (Mondays through Thursdays only, with some select blackout dates). It also ends tomorrow, so if you ever needed an excuse to start living a bit more spontaneously, this is it.
